Insecurity

Insecurity, oh, a feeling so vile,
A weight that bears down with such trial.
It eats away at your heart and mind,
Leaving you lost, with thoughts unkind.

It sneaks in, like a thief in the night,
Stealing confidence and taking flight.
The constant worry of what others think,
A never-ending cycle, a chain that does shrink.

But hold on, take a breath, and believe,
In the strength and courage that you can retrieve.
For insecurity is just an illusion,
A projection of your own self-confliction.

Embrace your imperfections, for they are unique,
A part of what makes you, you, so don’t take a peak.
At what others may say, or the path they may choose,
Focus on you, and what you have to lose.

For within you, there lies a power so great,
A force that can conquer, and seal your own fate.
So stand tall, and hold your head high,
For you are amazing, don’t let insecurity lie.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
