HAPPINESS IN LIFE

Below is the essence of what someone told me a while back about life and happiness. He had wisdom far beyond my understanding back then. As he isn’t alive anymore, and for some reason, I thought of him today, I wanted to share with you, what he told me about life and happiness. Hope you get something out of this.

“Life is like a river. Go with the flow, or else you will be stuck at the shore. Don’t take life with any inhibitions. Because any impediment from you, to the flow of life, will only obstruct your own evolution.

Life is energy and each of us pulsates with it. In this pulsation arise innumerable thoughts incessantly. We get carried away with them and forget life itself. It’s like watching a movie and forgetting the canvas on which it is being played.

We often seek happiness in material accomplishments. While that’s partly valid, and as humans, it’s only natural to seek happiness in our outside environment, it’s more how we comply with the things outside, from within, that determines how happy we are. Because only seeking material triumphs won’t make us truly happy. We may get everything that we want, yet there will always seed a new yearning. There has always been a conflux and congruence between needs and wants, and without setting our priorities straight, it is very hard to be truly happy while running after material cravings.

Happiness is not instant, it’s at your instance. If you want to have it, it’s right here right now. Or else, it’s nowhere. It’s at your core, dormant, waiting for your own acceptance, while you keep seeking outside. Forget about others, contemplate yourself. Happiness lies there.”

The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
